Hi!
I'm searching for a new HD.
I've found Western Digital WD3200BEVT with this specifications:
Height 9.5 mm
Length 100.2 mm
Width 69.85 mm
Weight 0.117 kg

Would I've any problems with 100.2mm length?

I've read that maximum specifications are 9.5, 100, 70...

Thanks!

Hi ultramaximum,

Where did you get these numbers from? *curious*
As there are always free dimension tolerances on both, the laptop and the HDD, the maximum lenght to fit will not be 100.00 but 100 mm ±100 μm perhaps. It could be even more on the Laptop, though. Have you measured the available space with a sliding caliper? I suggest you do so beforehand ordering the HDD.

cheers, Swordfish

The 320 BEVT and the 500 BEVT will fit and work. All 2.5" 9.5mm heigh SATA HDDs will fit.
You only have to remember the height, though there are rarely any 12mm heigh 2.5" dvds nowadays. Note that both hdds slow down when idle, this change of speed is noticeable, since they both produce a rather loud "white noise". One can disable the speed change and then have a constant noise, i opted to stay with my old 80 BEVS since it is really really quiet.

Ok, thanks bastel.
How about changing the speed? Which software you used?
